Lifeblood Kaharagia is a joint initiative of the Káhareži Fondazár and the Principality of Kaharagia. Káhareži Fondazár, a Michigan 501(c)(3) non-profit, administers the programme; the Principality confers the Medal of Merit for Blood Donations on participants who reach the donation milestones.
The programme records voluntary blood donations made by Kaharagian nationals and friends of the nation through any recognised blood service, wherever you are in the world.
How to participate
Donate through your local blood service. You don't need to be in Kaharagia to take part. Donations count whether they're made at home or abroad, provided the service is a recognised one.
- Find a recognised provider near you: a Red Cross or Red Crescent centre, a hospital blood service, or your country's national blood donation authority.
- Donate only if you're eligible and well, and follow the medical advice of the donation service.
- Keep a record of every donation, including the date, the location, and any reference number the service gives you.
- Log each donation in the ePortal so it counts toward your milestones.
The Medal of Merit for Blood Donations
The Medal of Merit for Blood Donations recognises sustained voluntary giving. It is awarded in four classes, based on the number of donations logged.
| Class | Donations | Awarded for |
|---|---|---|
| First Class | 100 | A lifetime of voluntary blood donation. |
| Second Class | 75 | Long service to the cause of blood donation. |
| Third Class | 50 | Continued giving over many years. |
| Fourth Class | 25 | A first established record of voluntary donation. |
The medal is conferred by the honours authority of the Principality on the basis of donations logged in the ePortal. The authority may request confirmation from the relevant donation service before an award is made.
Eligibility and safety
Donate only if you're eligible, well, and cleared by the donation service. Rules and waiting periods vary by country and by donation type, so check with your local service first. For any health question, speak to the donation centre or your own doctor. We can't advise on medical matters or on your eligibility to give blood.
Common questions
What counts as a donation?
A single donation event recorded by a recognised blood-collection organisation. One visit to a blood drive or clinic is one donation.
Does plasma count the same as whole blood?
Yes. Plasma, platelet, and whole-blood donations all count toward your total. The submission form asks for the type so the State has a complete record of what you gave.
Can I submit historical donations from before I joined?
Yes. Submit each one with whatever supporting documentation you have. Older donations may be accepted at officer discretion, based on the evidence available.
My donation centre doesn't issue receipts.
Submit what you have: a donor-card stamp, an email confirmation, or a written attestation from the service. The reviewing officer will judge whether it's sufficient and may ask for more.
Is my information sold or shared?
No. We don't sell, trade, or share your donation records for marketing or any commercial purpose. As a US 501(c)(3) public charity, Káhareži Fondazár is barred from commercialising participant data, and the Principality treats Lifeblood records as honours data, not a commercial asset. The only third party we may contact about your record is your donation service, and only to verify a donation you've submitted.
Who can see my donation history?
Only the small number of officers reviewing and approving donations have access to your individual records. Your medal conferral, once it happens, is public (it appears in the Royal Kaharagian Gazette and the Honours register), but your underlying donation count and individual donations are not published. Full detail is in the ePortal Privacy Notice.
How do I get the physical medal?
Once a class threshold is reached and the conferral is gazetted, the State arranges issuance through normal honours-administration practice. You may be contacted through your ePortal inbox for delivery details.
Can I withdraw from the programme?
Yes. Email lifeblood@kaharagia.org and we'll stop recording further donations against your profile. Medals already conferred remain on the public Honours record.
